Sources of Financing

Definition

What is Sources of Financing?

Industry Canada's Sources of Financing Web site (  http://strategis.ic.gc.ca/sc_mangb/sources/engdoc/homepage.html ):

  • Aims to increase Small and Medium Enterprises (SME)s' awareness of the financial options available to them by equipping them with a tool to find appropriate financing from a broad range of Canadian sources of capital;
  • Provides you with information on traditional and alternative financing options. Everything from the products and services available from chartered banks, credit unions and trust companies, to those offered by micro-lenders, asset-based lenders, and venture capital companies - among many others;
  • Helps you learn. Find explanations of the various types of financing offered via the database in the special definitions section, plus facts on complementary, non-financial services offered by Sources' partners;
  • Also includes two tools: The Lease or Buy Calculator which helps SME's to compare both the cost of leasing and the cost of buying equipment and; the SME Financial Services Charges Calculator which helps to compare the monthly cost of most business accounts offered by the major financial institutions in Canada;
  • Is the ideal tool for busy entrepreneurs like you.
