Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) - Overview

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) is based on Part II of the Canada Labour Code (Code). The purpose of Part II is "to prevent accidents and injury to health arising out of, linked with, or occurring in the course of employment to which this Part applies." The OHS provisions of the Code apply to all inter-provincial and international business activities in federally regulated sectors as well as to the federal public service and some employees involved in oil and gas exploration.
