Direct Sellers License

How do I apply for a Direct Sellers License?

To apply for a vendor’s license or a salespersons license under the Direct Sellers Act contact Consumer, Corporate & Insurance Division of the Office of the Attorney General.

Any non-resident company wishing to carry on business in this province, must first be registered under the Extra-provincial Corporations Registration Act of the Province of PEI. If the nature of your business entails direct selling, the company must first be licensed as a vendor at a cost of $100.00 and the individual salespersons must also be licensed at a cost of $50.00. Licenses issued under the Direct Sellers Act are valid for a two-year term. Cheques should be made payable to Provincial Treasurer of PEI. If you are submitting a vendor’s license application you must include a copy of the contract which you will be using with your customers. The contract must have the 10-day cooling-off period printed on its face. At the Registrar’s discretion, there may be a bonding requirement. Upon reviewing the application, the Registrar will advise if bonding is required.
