    Labour Force Survey figures (seasonally adjusted) for January, from Statistics Canada, reveal that Manitoba lost the distinction of having the second lowest unemployment rate in Canada when the unemployment rate moved up slightly to 5.1 percent from 5.0 percent in December., The Government of Manitoba announced that effective April 1, 2005 the provincial minimum wage will increase to $7.25 per hr.
