Note 1: It has been brought to the attention of the Aircraft Maintenance and Manufacturing Branch’s Policy Development Division that the Maintenance Policy Letter (MPL) system is out-of-date for several documents. In efforts to correct this situation a project to review the MPL system is underway. This project is set to complete, by April 2006, using a process of addition, deletion or replacement of MPL on this listing. Due to circumstances during this period some MPL may need to be reissued and will appear to be expired. These will be addressed by the completion of the project and through attrition. From now on, this listing is to be considered the official list of MPL in effect. Any MPL posted on this site expired or not will be considered to be in effect until they are listed here as cancelled.

Note 2: MPLs are internal working documents for use by Transport Canada staff. They do not include all the relevant information on the stated topic, therefore they must be used within the context of the applicable regulations and standards. MPLs apply only to aircraft that are operated subject to Canadian regulations. Foreign operators of Canadian products should refer to their own national regulations.

Note 3: the Director, Aircraft Maintenance & Manufacturing Branch, has approved MPLs listed below. Individual MPLs may be revised from time to time, bearing the same MPL number, a new revision number and a new issue date. It is this listing that is to be used in determining the correct revision status of an MPL and whether or not an MPL is still in effect. MPL #1 may be used for reference purposes, however, any paper copies are to be verified against this website listing for accuracy.
