The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) produces and updates, on a regular basis, a listing of amateur-built aircraft kits which have been evaluated by either the FAA, or Transport Canada (TC). These kits have been found eligible in meeting the "major portion" requirement of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR Part 21.191[g]), or Standard 549 (STD 549.5).
