Transport Canada > Civil Aviation > System Safety > Canadian Aviation Executives’ Safety Network (CAESN)

The safety management philosophy presupposes that executive managers are ultimately responsible for aviation safety in our respective companies and organizations. In order to continue responding to the multiple challenges facing civil aviation, Transport Canada established the Canadian Aviation Executives’ Safety Network (CAESN) as an annual assembly for Canadian aviation leaders.

Everyone has roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities necessary to manage safety pro-actively within the air transportation system. Dialogue between Canadian aviation executives and key decision makers are key to enhancing aviation safety in Canada. The Canadian Aviation Executives’ Safety Network (CAESN) is a forum for this purpose and the inaugural meeting was held in April 2003 in Montréal.

Objective

To identify aviation safety challenges and mitigation strategies and to provide a forum for dialogue regarding the viability and direction of the aviation industry in Canada.
