Research
The Transport Institute builds on three decades of experience in transportation and logistics research and education at the University of Manitoba. The Institute is a Canadian leader in transportation research with a focus on economics and policy issues as well as on the technical side of transportation.

Education
The Transport Institute's Certificate in Logistics program at the University of Manitoba was developed in 1997 in coordination with the Canadian Institute of Traffic and Transportation (CITT). Graduates have the opportunity to enhance their careers in sectors such as: third party logistics providers, manufacturing, carriers, agribusiness, and government.

The Institute's pursuit of educational programs in logistics has resulted in the creation of a new major in the undergraduate program at the I.H. Asper School of Business. The major in Logistics and Supply Chain Management commenced in September 2003.

Outreach
The Institute regularly hosts conferences, symposia, seminars and workshops. The Institute's forums provide a neutral setting where senior industry, government and academic representatives are invited to address pressing concerns specific to the transportation and logistic industry.
