Client Readiness Report for transborder marine shipments

The following information is required for the ACI Client Readiness Report. Clients should provide as much detail as possible about their systems and processes and what steps they are taking to prepare for full implementation.

  • Client name
  • Client contact person, position, telephone number and e-mail address
  • Client type: marine carrier or freight forwarder
  • CBSA-approved carrier code
  • Specify who will be submitting supplementary cargo reports (the freight forwarder or the marine carrier on behalf of the freight forwarder).
  • If you are a marine carrier, provide a list of freight forwarders who will be transmitting supplementary cargo reports on your behalf.
  • Indicate which method of communication will be used to transmit data to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) (e.g. VAN/CADEX lines, Customs Internet Gateway, CBSA Direct Connect, third-party service provider).
  • If a third-party service provider will be used, provide their name.
  • Provide a status report and timeline for systems development.
  • Indicate when you will be ready for systems testing by the CBSA.
  • Specify the date that you expect to begin electronic transmissions.

The completed Client Readiness Report must be submitted before December 5, 2005, to the Manager of Program and Policy Development at the following address:
