This publication is to be used with reference to the Aeronautics Act, the
Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) Part VII, and the Commercial Air
Services Standards (CASS).
This study guide is intended to provide elaboration on each of the subject areas
included in the knowledge requirements for the position of Chief Pilot Commuter
Operations.
The subjects covered in the examination are as follows:
Chief Pilot Commuter Operations:
- Aeronautics Act
- Aviation Regulations
- Provisions of AOC
- Publications
A pass mark of 80% will be required on the Chief Pilot Commuter Operations
(CPCOM).
The Chief Pilot Examination forms one part of the necessary requirements in order
to become a chief pilot. A chief pilot applicant will also be required to successfully
complete an oral examination/interview with the appropriate Regional Commercial and
Business Aviation Principal Operations Inspector prior to chief pilot appointment.
Successful completion of the CPCOM examination constitutes successful completion of
CPTAX Examination for chief pilot operating under multiple subparts 703/704 operations.
