This publication is to be used with reference to the Aeronautics Act, the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) Part VII, and the Commercial Air Services Standards (CASS).

This study guide is intended to provide elaboration on each of the subject areas included in the knowledge requirements for the position of Operations Manager Commuter Operations.

The subjects covered in the examination are as follows:

Operations Manager Commuter Operations:

  • Aeronautics Act
  • Canadian Aviation Regulations
  • Provisions of AOC
  • Publications

A pass mark of 80% will be required on the Operations Manager Commuter Operations (OMCOM).

The Operation Manager Examination forms one part of the necessary requirements in order to become an Operation Manager. An Operation Manager applicant will also be required to successfully complete an oral examination/interview with the appropriate Regional Commercial and Business Aviation Principal Operations Inspector prior to Operation Manager appointment.

Successful completion of the OMCOM examination constitutes successful completion of OMTAX examination for Operation Manager operating under multiple subparts 703/704 operations.
