Testing and registration

This information has been developed for importers and brokers who want to participate in the OGD testing.

The OGD Testing Information Zone provides general information on testing and also provides you with the option of registering on line with us. This site will also allow you to download all testing information for our new OGD Service Options 463 for Pre-Arrival RMDs, and 471 for Post-Arrival RMDs.

Clients interested in testing the OGD Service Options must currently be an existing release client with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). If you are not a release client today, you can contact your ACROSS co-ordinator to obtain information on becoming a participant of ACROSS EDI/Release. Clients registered with the CBSA who already have the capabilities of transmitting EDI releases are encouraged to do testing with these new release OGD Service Options. Click here for testing procedures.

New data elements have also been added to the EDI release messages to satisfy the review requirements of the CFIA Inspectors.

CFIA has developed an automated reference tool called Automated Import Reference System (AIRS) which must be used by the importing community to identify the data elements requirements.

The contact for inquiries regarding the CFIA release requirements, or to obtain the AIRS tool is:
