Policy Statement

Hedge funds are a specialized kind of investment that are usually addressed to a certain type of investors and privately offered. A registered charity can issue an official donation receipt for the fair market value of a hedge fund. However, before accepting a gift of an interest in a hedge fund, a charity should consider provincial laws, its own governing documents and potential liabilities.
