Policy Statement

Organizations established to promote industry and commerce for the benefit of a community (e.g., enhancing the industry generally in terms of greater efficiency and higher standards) can qualify for registration as a charity under the following category of charitable purposes: other purposes beneficial to the community in a way the law regards as charitable. The promotion must be of the industry as a whole, not of the interests of those engaged in it.
