Pension Advisory Committee

Effective September 25, 2006, as a result of the Government's decision to reduce program expenditures , all the advisory committees of the Canada Revenue Agency, including the Pension Advisory Committee, were eliminated. This page and its links contain references to historical activities of the Pension Advisory Committee whose activities have now ceased.

Mandate

The Pension Advisory Committee will provide a vehicle for information sharing, regular interaction, and meaningful dialogue between the CRA and the pension industry regarding the CRA administration of its employee pension plan operations.

Activities

  • provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and knowledge about employee pension plans;
  • identify and discuss emerging industry trends that may impact CRA policy and industry practice;
  • recognize compliance concerns and recommend solutions;
  • provide input into the CRA's policy development;
  • bring matters of importance to the CRA's attention by providing an industry perspective;
  • make sure publications, policies, and consultative strategies are appropriate; and
  • report on its activities and findings as part of the CRA's annual reporting process.
