CAED software

New applicants must complete, sign and forward the CAED application form (PDF) to Statistics Canada by fax or mail PRIOR to downloading the Canadian Automated Export Declaration (CAED) software.

Current users do not need to complete the CAED application form when upgrading to a newer version of the CAED software. To upgrade the CAED software , simply click on the link below and follow the directions.

Always backup your CAED database before upgrading to a newer version of the software.

Minimum system requirements

  • Pentium 90 MHz or better
  • Microsoft Windows 98 / 2000 / NT 4.0
  • CD ROM Drive
  • 65 MB to install, 15 MB to run
  • VGA monitor or better

We recommend that you refer to the Installation Guide (PDF) prior to downloading the software.

The installation file for the CAED software is approximately 65 MB. Once the application has been installed, it should take approximately 15MB. The time required to download the software will depend on your modem speed and Internet connection

The file "install.exe" is an executable file. First, save the file into a temporary directory (i.e. c:\temp). Then, double click on the file name from your Windows Explorer and the installation process will begin.

For detailed information on how to use the software, consult the User Guide.

If already using CAED run the backup/restore function before upgrading, as a precaution.
