The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) takes your privacy very seriously. Any and all information you provide will remain completely confidential:

• Within the CRA: Only employees whose work requires it will be aware of the membership of any given list.
• Outside the CRA: Our lists will not be shared with any other organization.

Required and optional information

When you subscribe to a CRA electronic mailing list, the only required information is an email address where we can send messages.

With some lists, you'll also have the option of further identifying yourself or your organization. This will help us develop user profiles, but providing such information is strictly optional.

The CRA is committed to respecting the personal privacy of all individuals who subscribe to our Electronic mailing lists.

By subscribing to an electronic mailing list you will receive emails from the CRA containing information pertinent to your needs. The following summarizes our electronic mailing lists privacy policy and practices.

• The CRA does not automatically gather any personal information from you. Personal information is only obtained if you supply it to the CRA by sending an email or by subscribing in a secure portion of this site.
• Subscription information provided by you to the CRA will not be disclosed or used for any purpose other than the delivery of CCRA information that you have requested be delivered via the Electronic mailing lists mechanism. Subscription information provided by you is only used by CRA officials who need to know the information to respond to your request for information or to ensure the security of the system.
• Subscription information will not be used to create individual profiles, nor does the CRA disclose this information to any party or outside the federal government unless required by law. Subscription information will not be shared with any other subscription service within the CRA nor will it be cross-referenced with any other CRA information for any other purpose.
• All personal information provided by you is protected under the federal Privacy Act. This means that the CRA requires your consent to collect the subscription information, and that you have a right of access to that information.
