Service Issues / Charities Representative

If, for any reason, Client Assistance, General Enquiries or your contact within the Charities Directorate have not been able to address your concerns, you may ask to be directed to the responsible Manager.

If the Manager is unable to resolve the issue to your satisfaction, you can then contact the Charities Representative at (613) 948-8607 (local) or 1-866-303-0316 who will ensure that all service issues or concerns are addressed promptly. You may also contact the Representative at the following email address: charities-bienfaisance-resource@cra-arc.gc.ca. Please include your phone number and area code.

The Charities Representative is independent of other Divisions and can assist you by providing direction or information on issues that have not been resolved through normal channels. For example:

  • Service standards not met
  • Incomplete information provided
  • Clients do not feel they were treated in a fair, transparent manner, as per CRA's values & the Charities Directorate's commitment to service -- see Service Standards
  • Other complaints of a general nature

It is important to note that the Charities Representative will not be in a position to reverse application decisions or other technical determinations.
