3rd Annual National Connecting Indigenous Peoples of Canada Forum

Building upon the last two "National Connecting Aboriginal Canadians Forums" and the recently held United Nations World Summit on the Information Society's (WSIS) "Global Forum on Indigenous People and the Information Society's" (GFIPIS) convened in Geneva, members of the Aboriginal Canada Portal wish to bring together Canadian Indigenous connectivity stakeholders together in Ottawa to begin the process of developing a National Indigenous E-Strategy blueprint.

Seventh meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP-7) - Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity

At the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, a comprehensive international strategy for "sustainable development" was agreed upon which included the Convention on Biological Diversity. The Convention establishes three main goals: the conservation of biological diversity, the sustainable use of its components, and the fair and equitable sharing of the benefits from the use of genetic resources.
