Enforcement – Partners in missing children programs

If you have information about missing children, please call toll-free 1-877-318-3576.

Our Missing ChildrenAt the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), one of our most successful programs is Our Missing Children. This joint initiative involves the CBSA, the RCMP, Foreign Affairs Canada, and the Department of Justice Canada.

The goal is to help locate abducted or missing children and return them to their proper guardians.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children's Home PageOver 4,000 CBSA officers are on the alert for abducted or missing children at international airports and land border crossings. We're also part of a network of over 40 countries that regularly exchange information.

The CBSA’s involvement in the Our Missing Children’s program dates back to 1986. Since then, CBSA officers have reunited over 1,400 missing and abducted children with their legal guardians.

You can do your part by ensuring that if you travel with your children or with the children of friends that you have the proper permission and documentation, including a letter from the guardian or the other parent. See our fact sheet called Borderproofing children to read some handy tips to follow before you leave home.
