How to Join PIP

  1. To participate in the Free and Secure Trade (FAST) program, please visit the FAST Web page. If you want to participate in the Partners in Protection (PIP) program only, please continue.
  2. Transportation companies should download two copies of the Carrier Memorandum of Understanding [502 Kb - fillable PDF]. All other organizations should download two copies of the General Memorandum of Understanding [464 Kb - fillable PDF].

    Complete the documents by inserting your organization's name and the name of an officer authorized to sign the memorandum of understanding (MOU) for your organization. Ask the officer to sign both copies and forward them to the address listed below.

  3. You have to complete a security questionnaire and return it within 60 days of signing the MOU. This questionnaire gives us an executive summary and self-assessment of your organization's security processes.

    For help in completing the questionnaire, transportation companies should refer to the Highway Security Recommendations. All other organizations can refer to the General Security Recommendations.

  4. You also have to complete the Company Information Sheet document.

  5. Please note if all required documentation is not received within the 60-day timeframe, the application will not be processed further. Please submit a complete package, which includes the following documents:

    • A copy of your completed security questionnaire response;
    • A copy of your completed company information sheet; and
    • Two (2) completed and signed originals of the MOU
