Globetrotting

Upon reading how easy it was to go on a working holiday and gain experience in another country, I was amazed to learn that there indeed was a world out there ready for discovery. And with the SWAP program helping you along the way, it seemed to good to be true. So I took a leap of faith and applied for SWAP Britain. It was truly the best thing I have ever done!
While most SWAPPERs stay overseas for about a year before returning home, I immediately fell in love with travelling, meeting new people and taking on new challenges. In the end, it took me over three years before I finally got back home! The independence and freedom was unlimited and exhilarating. I travelled around the world and truly had the time of my life.
Getting work and finding a place to live was easier than I thought, especially with the help of SWAP. There are so many other students and young people doing the same thing that you'll meet so many people of so many different nationalities; it will open your mind and change you forever.
Now back home after seeing five continents, I have so many wonderful friends and memories and a whole new perspective on life. With the work experience I gained overseas, I know exactly what I want to do and can base a career on the experience I gained.
There is so much world to discover out there. Why work at home when you can work abroad, meet so many new people, have a unique travel network at your fingertips, have a sense of independence and freedom that you just can't have anywhere else?
Just go for it! You won't regret it.
