Welcome to the
Canadian Consulate General
in Milan

M. Huber, Consulat Général du Canada

The economic relationship between Canada & Italy is strong & dynamic. As the Canadian Consul General for Milan, I have the pleasure of heading the Canadian trade programme for all of Italy, a unified effort between the Canadian Consulate in Milan & the commercial section of the Canadian Embassy in Rome.

Our programme in Italy works to ensure that the Canadian-Italian relationship is rich not only in trade opportunities, but also in terms of investments and scientific partnerships. Italian direct investment in Canada today stands at approximately $880 million. Over 50 Canadian companies maintain a presence in Italy today, while some 120 Italian companies have offices or representations in Canada. Canada and Italy also share a strong trading relationship which translated into over $5.6 billion in two-way trade in 2001. There is still much potential for growth in the Canadian-Italian business relationship. The Canadian trade team in Italy will continue to strengthen and diversify it as we build on our many existing successes.

We are very pleased to see that you have chosen to use the Canadian Consulate in Milan’s website. Please, take the time to follow the links and read more about the Canadian-Italian trade and investment relationship and upcoming business-related events.
