About the Canada Export Awards
Since 1983, the Canada Export Awards have formally acknowledged the success of Canadian companies that export their products and services to markets around the world. These awards recognize the significant contribution exporters make to Canada's economic growth and underline excellence in competing in the global trading arena.
A panel of prominent business people and government officials from across Canada selects winners in a number of categories, including Job Creation, Innovation and Technology, Woman Entrepreneur, Emerging Markets, Aboriginal Business and Challenging Markets. The awards recognize small, medium-sized and large exporters. The panel also chooses one of the yearly winners to be Exporter of the Year. Any company that wins a Canada Export Award for a third time receives a Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Minister of International Trade presents the awards at the annual Canada Export Awards Ceremony. Members of the private sector assist in honouring the winners.
