1. To use Internet filing, have the following information ready:
   • your 15 digit Business Number;
   • a Web Access Code.
   
   
2. Make sure you have reviewed your legal obligations.
   
   
3. Confirm that the Information Returns Electronic Filing transmission site is open by checking the hours of service.
   
   
4. If you have a balance owing, refer to our balance due page for payment options.
   
   
5. Get the latest up to date information for all filing options on our release notes page
   
   
6. You must then determine which filing option best suits your filing needs:
   
   
   • T4 Web forms: This convenient filing option is for employers who have to file 1 to 3 slips. With T4 Web forms, all you need is a tested browser to complete, print, and submit a T4 Information return.
     
     
   • Desktop Application: This convenient filing option is for employers who have to file 1 to 70 T4 slips or 1 to 700 T1204 slips. To use this service you must:
     
     1. Download and Install the Desktop Application and J.R.E 1.4.2_08

        • What is the J.R.E 1.4.2_08?
     2. Complete your Information Return.
     3. Submit your electronic Information Return.
     
     
   • Internet file transfer (XML): This convenient filing option is for employers who used prepared payroll software to submit an electronic Information Return in the XML file format. You can file 1 to 500 Original or Amended slips (or 610Kb).
