North America acts to reduce risk of exposure to lindane
The CEC announced the signing on 30 November 2006, of the North American Regional Action Plan (NARAP) on Lindane and Other Hexachlorocyclohexane Isomers to reduce the risk of exposure to the toxic pesticide and waste isomer byproducts.

Toxic releases by industry down in North America
 New data presented in the latest Taking Stock report from the CEC show that industrial chemical releases fell by 20 percent in North America between 1998 and 2003, including a reduction in releases to air of 21 percent.
