I took a cruise and did not like the food or the crew.
How do I get my money back?
You should contact the travel agent who made the booking and explain the
circumstances.
I am taking a cruise on a vessel, how do I know the
vessel has been inspected, or how do I know it is safe?
Ask to see the vessel passenger certificate called an S.I.C. 16, check to see if
it is posted in a prominent place. If the vessel does not have an S.I.C. 16
certificate, it has not been inspected. If you know the name of the vessel, call
the Marine Safety Inspection office at (604) 666-0445
If I am wanting to check if a vessel has a certificate,
how do I get access to the ship's file?
The Inspection Services office of Transport Canada's Marine Safety office is
able to check and provide verification that the vessel is certified. However, to
get information from the file, you will need the owner's written permission.
If people are misbehaving on a lake or on a boat, whom do
I contact to register my complaint?
Contact the local R.C.M.P. and explain the situation. If possible, try and
audio-record, video-record or photograph the incident. Turn-over all information
to your local R.C.M.P.
