The government’s management framework ‘Results for Canadians’
commits managers to sharpen their citizen focus, apply sound public services
values, manage for results and to spend in a responsible manner. Accordingly,
Civil Aviation has a responsibility to monitor the performance of policies,
programs and initiatives and to make sound decisions based upon risk management
principles. As a result, the Quality Assurance and Review (QAR) Division was
created to provide a sound quality management and quality assurance framework
for Civil Aviation in Canada.
The QAR Division objectives include:
- Developing and implementing an Integrated Management System (IMS) that
incorporates risk management, levels of service, quality assurance, and
performance measurements;
- Assist functional and operational Divisions to continuously improve
processes and systems by conducting reviews, evaluations and follow-up
activities;
- Consult with internal and external clients to achieve mutually beneficial
and cooperative working relationships; and
- Facilitate working and focus groups to identify issues and share best
practices.
