In Canada, species are becoming endangered at an alarming rate. There are currently 402 species classified as being at risk in Canada. Scientists tell us that a major reason for species loss is destruction of habitat.
Try a species search to find out which animals, plants and other living organisms are listed as endangered, threatened or of special concern in Canada.

Students from Grades four to seven can learn about the science of meteorology by taking weather observations during the school year. There are experiments and suggested activities for all kinds of weather conditions.
Students record weather information each school day and relay it to the Sky Watchers database using the toll-free 1-800 line, or record their observations on-line at the Sky Watchers Web site. Data from all participating schools are posted on the Sky Watchers web site so students can compare their observations to those of other schools across the province or across the country. To encourage on-line participation, prizes are awarded to the most active Sky Watchers.
The Sky Watchers kit contains all of the equipment and reference material needed to set up a weather observing station at school.
Understand more about the weather and have fun with the Sky Watchers Program.
