Management Action Plan - Transport Canada’s Funding to the Transportation Association of Canada (TAC)

Recommendations

Management Response/Action Plan

OPI/OCI

The logic model and a performance framework for the contribution program should be updated and implemented to improve program monitoring.

Intergovernmental Affairs & Accessibility (ACCF) will work with DES to update the logic model and develop a performance framework.

ACCF/Departmental Evaluation Services

In order to keep track of TC’s funding relationship with TAC, the department needs to implement a simple process where the program manager responsible for the project maintains a summary highlighting the objectives of the project, total costs and, at the end of the project, results achieved. The department may want to consider keeping these summaries in a central location to facilitate reporting on TC’s overall funding relationship with TAC.

Both the Intergovernmental Affairs & Accessibility Branch (ACCF) and Road Safety and Motor Vehicle Regulation (ACF) Branch agree that project summaries should be maintained in a central location.  Both will meet and discuss who will take on the responsibility of collection and reporting.
