In-Province Hospital Medical Services that are Not Insured What In-Province Hospital Services are Not Insured?Services not covered by the Hospital Services Plan include:
- Special nurses requested by the patients or family.
- Preferred accommodation (semi-private or private)
- Certain prosthetic devices.
- Crutches and other such appliances.
- Certain drugs for use outside the hospital.
- Ambulance user fees within the province or travel expenses.
- All ambulance fees outside the province
- Emergency Air Evacuation user fee
- Dental extractions, except in cases where the patient must be admitted to hospital for medical reasons with prior approval of the Department.
