Our Department

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada provides information, research and technology, and policies and programs to achieve security of the food system, health of the environment and innovation for growth. AAFC, along with its portfolio partners, reports to Parliament and Canadians through the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food and Minister for the Canadian Wheat Board.

Employment Opportunities

AAFC's recruitment strategies are driven by our business needs, our inclusive culture and human resources planning. Recent legislative changes have enabled us to place a greater reliance on public service values in our staffing processes, while our continuing commitment to improvement has reduced the wait time for both applicants and hiring managers. The effort is always to match skills and competencies with the job at hand -- finding the "right-fit" candidate. As an organization dedicated to continuous learning, we support training and professional development, encouraging all our employees to reach for excellence and their full potential. Throughout the year AAFC brings in a broad array of occupational groups. We also maintain an inventory of resumes.
