CRIS has developed a series of pathfinders to guide our clients towards the valuable information available for rural Canadians.

    This pathfinder helps to inform rural residents and communities about the issues, options and initiatives in rural child care across Canada.
     
  • Community Safety Pathfinder Updated
    The focus of this pathfinder is on community policing and crime prevention programs and resources for rural and remote communities of Canada.
     
  • Entrepreneurship and Opportunities for Rural Youth
    The audience for this pathfinder is rural Canadian youth who are interested in becoming entrepreneurs. It provides information on associations and organizations, funding and scholarships programs and government youth employment programs.

    This pathfinder aims to help people in remote and rural regions communities locate Government of Canada programs and services via the Internet, toll-free telephone access and in person access centres across Canada.
     
  • Heritage and the Rural Community Pathfinder
    Communities in rural and remote regions of Canada want to preserve and promote their heritage. This pathfinder identifies resources available to help them such as associations, organizations and government departments active in the heritage field, funding programs and a bibliography.

    This pathfinder serves as a source of literacy information for learners and educators. It focuses on literacy resources available to those who reside in rural and remote areas of Canada.

    This pathfinder aims to help rural Canadian entrepreneurs who want to finance a small business and who have had trouble finding credit from the traditional sources.
     
  • Recruitment of Doctors for Rural and Remote Areas
    This pathfinder provides information to assist rural and remote communities in the recruitment of doctors. It includes provincial and territorial government recruitment programs and a bibliography on the practice of rural medicine.
     
  • Recruitment of Nurses for Rural and Remote Areas
    This pathfinder provides information to assist rural and remote communities in the recruitment of nurses. It includes provincial and territorial government recruitment programs and a bibliography on rural nursing.
     
  • Rural Tourism
    The focus of this pathfinder is on business opportunities in the rural tourism industry. It provides information on industry associations, government programs, tourism departments and agencies, tourism resource centers and a bibliography.
     
  • Rural Youth in Action in the Community
    This pathfinder aims to help rural and remote communities assist their youth with recreation activities, exchange programs, skills development and employment.
     
  • Sources of Rural News New
    This pathfinder is an aid to accessing Canadian local and regional news from a variety of sources.
     
  • Travel to Rural Canada
    This pathfinder highlights sources of tourism information to help plan a vacation to rural and remote regions of Canada.
     
  • Writing Funding Proposals
    The Writing Funding Proposals pathfinder provides references to web sites and to print sources with useful information on how to write a proposal when applying for funding from a private or public organization.
