Canada's Universal Child Care Plan - Government of Canada
The plan has two components: 1. direct support for parents through the $100 per month, per child under six Universal Child Care Benefit; and 2. a commitment to provide incentives to create 25,000 flexible child care spaces per year through the Child Care Spaces Initiative, beginning in 2007.

Your provincial department responsible for child care is a good place to start to find out how to evaluate child care services and to find out what is available to you in your area. Most provinces also have some sort of child care subsidy program for families with low incomes.
