Help on PDF

What is PDF?

PDF is an acronym for Portable Document Format and is widely used for distributing documents as it can be read on most machines including Macintosh, Unix and Windows.

Most machines include the free untility, Adobe Acrobat Reader with the basic installation. New installations of web browsers also include the free utility.
Documents stored in PDF format retain all their formatting including original fonts and images. This allows people to read the documents as the author intended, independent of the platform or applications in use.

If you do not have Acrobat Reader then you can get the latest version for your platform from the Adobe website.

If you have questions about using Acrobat please consult the help pages at Adobe.

Visit Adobe's Web Site for Help.

Download Acrobat Reader.

If you can't use the PDF version or require a different format, please contact coops@agr.gc.ca specifying the desired format, the document's title and the referring Web page, or phone (613) 759-7194.
