(Laboratory Services Division East)

Laboratory and testing services include monitoring programs for economic fraud, heavy or toxic metals, and other adulterants; the development of new methods as required; scientific and technical support (including a proficiency testing program) for the accreditation of private labs for fertilizer analysis; and the evaluation of testing methodologies in submissions for approval of fertilizer ingredients and registered products; and in proposals for new or revised national and international standards.

 

bullet CFIA Laboratory - Calgary, Alberta
(Laboratory Services Division West)

This laboratory supports the CFIA’s Fertilizer Program in the area of pesticide residues and environmental contaminants. Services include testing, the development of methods to meet new testing requirements, and the provision of scientific advice for program development and harmonization of methodologies.
