Note: Hay, straw or fodder intended to be used as feed for species other than ruminants, swine and horses may be imported without restriction if Customs Commercial Invoice (CCI) or other satisfactory documentation that indicates the intended use and the species. This directive does not apply to products regulated under Section 55 of the Regulations (when used for packaging). IMPLEMENTATION: This general import directive supersedes all specific or general directives. This directive relates to Animal Health import requirements and does not remove any obligation to the Canadian importer to comply with the import requirements of other Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) programs and/or other departments such as Plant Protection and Feed and Fertilizer Divisions of Plant Products Division CFIA. If not prohibited by another CFIA program, the documents mentioned above may be provided by fax to the Import Primary Contact (IPC), prior to importation i.e. Agriculture - Planning, Reporting and Accountability Structure (AGRI-PARS). Imported products are subject to inspection fees of $14.95 AGRI-PARS or $25.25 (regular) with the exception of the United States of America, whereby no inspection fees are applicable.
