The Horticulture Section of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of policies and standards for the horticultural industry to prevent the introduction and spread of regulated quarantine pests into Canada. This section of the CFIA website is committed to helping producers, importers, exporters, regulatory organizations and any other individual or group involved in the horticulture industry to access information related to the program.

Export, Import and Movement within Canada

Commodity Officers, working within the CFIA Horticulture Section develop and maintain policy directives that outline the requirements for the movement of plants, plant materials and any other related horticulture commodities that are regulated due to their association with quarantine pests.

Directives are intended to be used by importers, exporters, shippers, custom brokers, industries, Canada Customs and Revenue Agency, CFIA inspection staff and the public. Pests of Concern

Early detection control and eradication of the Canadian regulated pests is a sound practice by which introduction and spread of these pests can be efficiently limited.  You can help us doing so. Do you recognize one of these undesirable invaders?
If you do, you can notify one of the CFIA operational regional offices, or a provincial agricultural ministry.
