Background Information

Vision
The New Brunswick Rural Team (NBRT) envisions vibrant rural communities through partnerships.

Mission
The mission of NBRT is to assist New Brunswick federal and provincial departments in developing partnerships for facilitating rural community viability.

Mandate
NBRT assumes the following mandate:

  • To facilitate Federal/Provincial inter-departmental communications, networking and information sharing on community capacity building and other relevant rural issues.
  • To assist Federal/Provincial departments in partnering with rural communities for the latter to achieve their goals.
  • To continue with the implementation of the Rural Dialogue process.
  • To facilitate and assist rural research.
  • To recommend Federal/Provincial inter-departmental strategies and action plans to the New Brunswick Federal Council and the Government of New Brunswick.
  • To monitor the progress of implemented strategies and action plans.
  • To assist the Rural Secretariat with various activities.
