Welcome to the Rural Youth Dialogue!

Young people are the key to sustaining long-term social and economic development in rural, remote and northern communities. With their skills, spirit and passions, they play an important role in shaping a successful future for rural Canada. That is why youth contribution in Rural Dialogue activities and through the Youth-Dialogue-Jeunesse on-line discussions is so important. We need to hear first-hand youth perspectives on issues facing rural, remote and northern communities in Canada and to work with them to increase their participation now in helping to build vibrant communities for tomorrow.

With young people living in various parts of the country, a virtual dialogue seems the best way to explore topics of importance to youth in rural, remote and northern areas in Canada. Through an on-line discussion we can connect with and learn from each other by sharing information and ideas.

Joining the discussion is easy. You don’t need to be an expert on any issues or to have any experience with web-based discussions to take part. All that is needed is a willingness to get involved and to share your thoughts, views and ideas on the opportunities and challenges facing Canadians living in rural, remote and northern regions of Canada.
