Canadian Farm Families Options Program

The Canadian Farm Families Options Program (Options) is designed to provide short-term income assistance to lower-income farmers and their families while they pursue training and advice to improve their business prospects and income for the long-term.

The deadline to apply for the Canadian Farm Families Options Program has passed. The deadline was November 20, 2006.

Please look for information on Year 2 of the Options Program in the spring of 2007.

As a condition of receiving income assistance, participants must commit to completing one of the following Renewal activities:

• Farm Business Assessment (FBA) or business plan offered by the Canadian Farm Business Advisory Services (CFBAS), or an approved equivalent activity
  
  
• Skills training or an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) through the Canadian Agricultural Skills Service (CASS), or an approved equivalent activity
