Canadian Farm Business Advisory Services

Successful businesses set goals for the short term and have a vision of where they want to be in the long term. CFBAS can help you recognize the strengths and weaknesses of your farming operation, while helping you identify options to improve your farm's financial situation or to address a specific financial problem. The following advisory services are available to help you do just that:

Farm Business Assessment (FBA)

Valued at $2,500, you are required to pay $100* for a financial assessment of your farm's past and current financial situation, an action plan to help you meet your business goals, and a follow-up consultation to monitor your progress.

* This fee is waived for producers who qualify under the Canadian Farm Families Options Program.

Specialized Business Planning Services (SBPS)

SBPS offers financial assistance for the preparation of specialized business plans by a professional consultant, to better prepare you in areas such as: succession, expansion, marketing, human resources, risk management, and diversification.

Planning and Assessment for Value-Added Enterprises (PAVE)

Value-added enterprises add value to a primary agricultural product through product manufacturing, food processing, and non-food processing. This program helps you cover the cost of hiring a business planning professional (consultant) to develop a feasibility assessment and/or business plan related to your value-added business opportunity.
