Government funds food safety in Saskatchewan
REGINA, Saskatchewan, October 11, 2006 - The Honourable Chuck Strahl, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food and Minister for the Canadian Wheat Board, announced today that the Province of Saskatchewan will receive $600,000 over the next two years to enhance and promote food safety systems in its food processing industry.

Canada’s new government launches $1.7 million Canadian integrated traceability program
Ontario, Sept. 6, 2006 - The Honourable Chuck Strahl, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food and Minister for the Canadian Wheat Board, today announced the Canadian Integrated Traceability Program (CITP) worth $1.7 million. This new program will accelerate the development, implementation and integration of traceability systems across the Canadian meat and livestock industry.

Canada invests more than $1.5 million to develop international markets for wild blueberries
Oxford, Nova Scotia, August 10, 2006 – Bill Casey, Member of Parliament for Cumberland–Colchester–Musquodoboit Valley, on behalf of the Honourable Chuck Strahl, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food and Minister for the Canadian Wheat Board, today announced $1,534,000 to develop international markets for wild blueberries. Funding is being provided to the Canadian component of the Wild Blueberry Association of North America (WBANA).

Canada brand tools showcased at annual meeting of Canada's ministers of agriculture
