Rural Development
Quick Links
Almost one third of Canada's population - approximately nine million people - live in rural regions. The Government of Canada is helping rural Canada develop and maintain strong, adaptable and vibrant communities.
The Canadian Rural Partnership (CRP) was created to help respond to the needs of Canadians in rural and remote regions by giving them a forum to exchange information and share knowledge of life in rural and remote Canada.
The Canadian Rural Partnership offers:
- funding for skills and leadership development
- information on government programs and services
- tools for community development
- information resources for specific projects/issues - child care, heritage, tourism, health care, writing funding proposals
- newsletters for every region of the country
- calendar of events
- research on topics/issues affecting rural Canada
