Companies will be able to showcase their products and their catalogues to key buyers in Cuba who are looking to source quality Canadian products.
Representatives will be also be present from all major buying and importing groups in Cuba such as Alimport, ITH and Cemex. Orders are expected to be placed on site for the peak tourism period beginning in December.
Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada will cover product shipping costs from Toronto to Havana. Special hotel rates for participants have been arranged at the Melia Cohiba Hotel.
Participants are expected to cover their own travel expenses and a participation fee of $400 per company will be charged to cover booth rental and exhibit materials. Cheques addressed to the Receiver General for Canada should be sent to Judith Gaw, 930 Carling Avenue Suite 125, Ottawa, ON, K1A 0C5
Companies interested in participating must register with AAFC on or before February 12, 2007. Shipments will be sent from Toronto to Havana on February 13, 2007.
