MINISTER MITCHELL TO ANNOUNCE NEW MEASURES TO ADDRESS CANADIAN FARM CRISIS

OTTAWA, March 28, 2005 - Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Andy Mitchell, will be making a series of significant announcements on Tuesday, March 29, 2005 regarding new measures to support Canadian farmers in all sectors. These announcements will be made in Guelph and Mt. Brydges, Ontario, as well as in Regina, Saskatchewan, and in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Guelph, Ontario

At a press conference, Minister Mitchell will announce all measures. The Minister will be joined at the event by Guelph MP, Brenda Chamberlain, caucus colleagues and industry representatives.
