Export Information By Jurisdiction


The export of fish and fish products is regulated by the Fish, Seafood and Production Division, and includes provision for the certification of product for export. Product must originate from a registered fish processing establishment and meet defined standards. There are regulatory exceptions for live lobster, live crabs and some products from fisher-packers. Contact your local Fish, Seafood and Production office for information.

Foreign country requirements are based on information available to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) at the time of posting. All exporters should confirm product requirements before commencing full scale production for export to a foreign market. The CFIA assumes no liability for the accuracy of this information.
