Evaluation of country, regions or zones are reviewed on a case by case basis until general criteria are developed for diseases of concern. Criteria for regionalisation, zoning, or farm freedom varies depending on factors such as epidemiology of the disease, geographical or physical barriers, surveillance, etc.
