Purveyor's Pride Violates Meat Inspection ActOn January 23, 2006, Purveyor’s Pride entered a guilty plea in provincial court in Edmonton, Alta., to a single count of violating the Meat Inspection Regulations. Purveyor’s Pride was fined $1,000 for sending or conveying a meat product from one province to another that was not prepared or stored in a registered establishment as per the Meat Inspection Regulations. The CFIA is responsible for enforcing a variety of federal legislation including the Meat Inspection Regulations and its regulations.
