Husham Al Husinawi (Boucherie Zam Zam) Fined $5,000

On March 14, 2006, Montreal resident Hulsham Al Husinawi was convicted of violating the Canada Agricultural Products Act. The defendant did not attend the trial.

Between April 15 and October 7, 2004, Husham Al Husinawi removed, altered or interfered with a thing seized or detained, without authorization from an inspector, in violation of subsection 19(5) of the Canada Agricultural Products Act, R.S.C. (1985), c. 20 (4th Supp.).

Justice Michaud, of the Court of Quebec, ordered the defendant to pay a fine of $5,000, plus costs, within 90 days, and ordered the forfeiture of the seized articles. The decision was handed down on March 14, 2006 at the Montreal courthouse.
